SCAND was asked to create a solution that allows to generate a legal contract template automatically based on the user questionnaire answers. The challenge was to analyse legal contracts structure and define the parts that correspond to each of the points in the questionnaire, then compile the final contract upon the customer's answers. The contract also needed to be easily editable and customizable.

Approach

To deliver a high-quality solution with the required functionality, our development team divided the process into the following stages:

Analysis of the contracts structure and finding the technical solution that has a high flexibility level and could be developed within the limited time and budget frames.
Development of the database that comprises a wide set of legal clauses, further used for the contracts generation.
Creation of the web solution itself that allows to build the contracts templates based on the questionnaire answers with the possibility of further editing and saving as a custom contract.

How It Works?

A lawyer needs to create some contract for his client. In order to save time and not to do everything from scratch he opens up an app and replies to a basic questionnaire (e.g. which jurisdiction is applicable or which data protection provisions are required). The system creates the contract template consisting of the clauses that fit the client’s needs. The lawyer can add some custom clauses to the created contract and fill in all the missing information and then save the result as a final contract.
