Did you ever think, how many users are able to work with your Web site simultaneously? How many accesses can your Web server and application handle?
Ever had to test certain modules each time after the code has changed, performing the same operations every time? Tried to simulate certain user activities, repeating them simultaneously?
Megatester is an utility for automated testing of Web-based applications.
It allows to test both functionality and performance, with possibility to record test cases for latter usage.
Megatester acts like a simple proxy. When it starts, a list of available test cases is displayed. A test case is a recorded set of actions that have gone through Megatester's proxy module, when user was testing his site or Web-based application.
Now it is even easier. To automatically repeat all the actions that you have done manually, just select the test case you want to repeat (or a group of them, checking the cases), and press "Play" button.
In the appeared at the bottom of dialog progress window, you will see the requests that Megatester sends now to your site or Web-based application. If there will be errors in responses, you will see them in red color.
Megatester allows you to perform tests on your project or product much faster than manually. Notice, that a set of test cases testing different functionalities of your Web site, can be a very good help in order to improve quality of your code. In combination with such Extreme Programming comprehensive tools as JUnit or log4j, Megatester provides a great possibility for automatization of testing process.
Multiple tests running in different threads allow you to test performance of your productive environment. This can discover the thin places in configuration of your system, Web or database server, application or its layers (such as beans or persistence).
